SHELTER News:
Raccoon is a gorgeous Siamese mix with pretty blue eyes who was found roaming in White Rock.
His family never came for him, so off he went for a veterinary update. He is now ready for a new home with adults and gentle children. He is doing well in the communal cat room at the shelter, where he enjoys visits from adults and gentle children.
The Los Alamos Animal Shelter, 226 East Road, 505.662.8179, has a great selection of adoptable pets; see the Petfinder website for photos here. All adoptable pets are micro-chipped, spayed or neutered, and have up-to-date on vaccinations.
For information about volunteering, adopting and donating and learning more about special needs animals and cats and dogs in foster care, visit www.lafos.org.
Shelter hours are noon to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays and noon to 3 p.m. Sundays.
