SHELTER News:

Freckles is an 8-year-old spayed female tortie whose face is orange on one side and dark of the other.

She is an indoor cat who loves attention from adults. She can be a bit selective about other feline company and should have her own separate “facilities”. According to her last family, Freckles avoids children and dogs. However, she has accepted visits from very gentle children at the shelter.

The Los Alamos Animal Shelter, 226 East Road, 505.662.8179, has a great selection of adoptable pets; see the Petfinder website for photos here. All adoptable pets are micro-chipped, spayed or neutered, and have up-to-date on vaccinations.

For information about volunteering, adopting and donating and learning more about special needs animals and cats and dogs in foster care, visit www.lafos.org.

Shelter hours are noon to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays and noon to 3 p.m. Sundays.
