Pet of the Week: Dallas the Dog

Dallas

SHELTER News:

Dallas the German Shepherd mix is described as loving and active by Los Alamos Animal Shelter personnel.

She enjoys long walks, chasing balls and play time at the dog park with calm, large dogs. She also loves to cool off in the pool on a hot day. Dallas is a quick learner and knows basic obedience; sit, down and enjoys using her nose.

Dallas is a little shy when introduced to new things and situations, but adapts quickly. She would love to be part of an active family who will take her for long hikes or perhaps a daily jog.

The Shelter, 226 East Road, (505) 662-8179, has a large selection of adoptable pets. Please be aware that the Los Alamos Animal Shelter is NOT a no-kill shelter … it does have a nice selection of animals, but there is currently not room for them all. Check out the Petfinder page for photos and to learn more about the adoptable pets at http://www.petfinder.com/shelters/friendsoftheshelter.html.

All adoptable pets are micro-chipped, spayed or neutered, and up-to-date on vaccinations.

Check out the Shelter’s new website at www.lafos.org, for information about volunteering, adopting and donating, read up on some favorite animals and learn more about special needs animals and cats and dogs in foster care.

NEW SHELTER HOURS: The LAC Shelter is open noon to 6 p.m. Monday thru Friday and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. weekends.

Note: More entries for the 2014 Shelter Alumnae Calendar are needed. Find the entry from at www.lafos.org.
