The Pajarito Environmental Education Center (PEEC), in partnership with the Los Alamos Arts Council, invites the community to March’s Climate Café from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday, March 12 at the Los Alamos Nature Center.
This free, facilitator‐guided gathering offers a welcoming space to reflect on our emotional responses to a changing climate and to connect with others navigating similar feelings. Climate Cafés are designed to support mental wellness and climate resilience by creating room for honest conversation, shared experiences, and compassionate listening.
With the Los Alamos Arts Council joining as a partner, this month’s gathering invites participants to create recycled notebooks and junk journals while exploring these emotions through art, emphasizing the role of creativity, expression, and community storytelling in building resilience and imagining hopeful futures.

About the Program
The Climate Café model offers a supportive, non‐judgmental environment to explore climate‐related emotions, whether grief, anxiety, hope, determination, or uncertainty. Participants are invited to share at their own comfort level, listen deeply, and learn practices that foster resilience and connection.
Because conversations may be emotionally complex, this program may not be appropriate for children under 16.

This month’s Climate Café is presented in partnership with the Los Alamos Arts Council, whose mission focuses on uniting the Los Alamos community through the arts.
Together, PEEC and the Los Alamos Arts Council aim to create a space where emotional reflection, artful thinking, and collective care can help strengthen our community’s response to a changing climate.

PEEC was founded in 2000 to serve the community of Los Alamos. It offers people of all ages a way to enrich their lives by strengthening their connections to our canyons, mesas, mountains, and skies.
