The community is invited to join the Pajarito Environmental Education Center (PEEC) and the Land of Enchantment Wildlife Foundation (LEWF) to eat like a bear, 6-8:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 22, at the Los Alamos Nature Center, 2600 Canyon Road.
The event will begin with a presentation by Dr. Kathleen Ramsay about black bears. Following Dr. Ramsay’s talk, guests will browse a buffet-style dinner featuring food from Vigilante Pizza and appetizers inspired by a black bear’s diet. It will be a delicious, fun, and educational evening. Drinks will include different herbal teas and a cash bar provided by Bathtub Row Brewing Co-op.
The nature center will provide reusable utensils and will compost any food waste from this event, including compostable plates … since reducing and properly managing waste is better for local black bears and the planet.
