Photo Expedition to the Masai Mara
Two local couples traveled to the Serengeti Plains of Tanzania to photograph the annual migration cycle of millions of wildebeest. The Walkers and Coopers photographed more than a hundred species of birds and 25 species of large mammals and will share their photographs and talk about their trip. 7 p.m. Free. A beginning snowshoe hike from the ski hill parking lot to Cañada Bonita. PEEC’s educator Siobhan Niklasson will lead the group along a snowshoe trail maintained by the Southwest Nordic Ski Club. Along the way, look at the effects of the Las Conchas fire on the forest and snowpack and at some of the ecological features of the winter forest. Register in advance. 9-11 a.m. Free.
