PEEC News:
The community is invited to the Los Alamos Nature Center Tuesday, Jan. 14 for an evening of family fun.
The night will kick off with a Family Star Party in the planetarium at 5:30 p.m. and continue 6-7 p.m. with Family Night. Both of these programs take place on the second Tuesday of every month and are free thanks to the Pajarito Environmental Education Center’s sponsors: New Mexico Bank & Trust sponsors Family Star Parties and Kiwanis Club of Los Alamos.
At the Family Star Party, participants will explore the constellation Orion — one of the most recognizable constellations in the night sky. They will look at Orion from a story point of view and from a scientific point of view with PEEC Educator Elizabeth Watts. At Family Night, attendees will enjoy a craft, story or other activity with Mesa Public Library’s Melissa Mackey. Parents are required to stay with their children at both programs.
The Los Alamos Nature Center is open until 8 p.m. Tuesdays, so families can stay after these programs to play and explore the exhibits.
