PechaKucha Santa Fe Launches Aug. 28

Staff Report

Travel Bug will host the first volume of the globally popular PechaKucha Night at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28 with local Santa Feans’ presentations scheduled to start around 6:30 p.m. Admission is free. Refreshments are available for purchase.

PechaKucha Night brings prominent and emerging creative minds together for an evening of lightning-fast presentations, creativity and fun. The PechaKucha format, where a dozen or so presenters are allowed to speak to just 20 slides, each shown for only 20 seconds, to reveal their passions, work and inspirations, is now held in more than 670 cities around the world.

“Almost everyone in Santa Fe has a great story,” said Colleen Rubart, Santa Fe PechaKucha organizer. “This is everyone’s opportunity to share theirs in a fun, casual, relaxed environment. PechaKucha Nights are about sharing the hidden creativity in a city, and celebrating the diversity of creative ideas and inspirations.”

“We can’t wait to host the first PechaKucha Night in Santa Fe,” said Travel Bug owner Greg Ohlsen. “It will be fun see what people bring to the evening and as most Santa Feans know, we love to drive interesting discussion here at the Travel Bug. PechaKucha seems like a good fit for our creative town. Come early to grab a seat!”

Travel Bug is at 839 Paseo De Peralta in Santa Fe, just two blocks off the Plaza. Visit www.mapsofnewmexico.com for directions.
