Gubernatorial candidate U.S. Rep. Steve Pearce today released the following statement:

Here are the facts about the government shutdown: I voted to keep it open. DACA has nothing to do with funding our government, yet Democrats like Chuck Schumer, Nancy Pelosi and Michelle Lujan Grisham have shut down the government regardless.

I’m asking the Democrats to put aside their political games and join me to reopen our government. Once we fulfill that basic responsibility of governing, we should work together to fix our broken immigration system.
