Pavement Preservation Project Begins At Los Alamos County Airport Week Of Oct. 11

A pavement preservation project will begin at the Los Alamos County Airport starting the week of Oct. 11.

The areas of the airport included in the project are the runway, concrete apron near the terminal building and taxiways.

Maxwell Asphalt is the general contractor conducting the work. The work will include crack sealing, limited concrete replacement and new markings on the runway and taxiways.

The time frame for substantial completion of this project is 45 days depending on weather.

Runway closures will occur during certain periods of the work. The dates and times have not yet been determined for the closures. More information will be shared as those dates are determined and Notices To Air Missions (NOTAMs) will be issued to pilots as well.
