The 39th Annual White Rock Community Independence Day Parade & Carnival took place this morning at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 366 Grand Canyon.
At 10 a.m., after a flag ceremony and the singing of the national anthem, children, adults and dogs joined in a parade with their decorated bicycles, tricycles, scooters, strollers, wagons and ponies along with the Los Alamos Police and Fire Departments for a half mile walk.
They returned to the parking lot of the church for a carnival that included free balloons, snow cones and popcorn for everyone and many games and prizes.
