Los Alamos High School students, school staff, parents and community members attended a “Strategic Plan” update meeting Saturday morning in the high school Speech Theater.
Strategic Plan Thrust Captains provided briefings on progress made of the work completed over the past seven months as well as updates on the path forward in five key areas:
- Student Achievement
- Effective Teachers
- Aligned Resources and Support Systems
- Community Partnerships
- System for Continuous Improvement
School Superintendent Gene Schmidt said that school and community involvement is important in creating a pathway to a world class system that prepares all students to be skilled, confident learners who are ready to succeed in a rapidly changing global environment.

The strategic planning session lasted two hours and those who participated helped shape the next five years of the district’s goal to become one of the best schools in the nation.
