Parkinson’s And Movement Disorders Action Group Meets At Los Alamos Senior Center Sept. 18

LARSO News:

The Parkinson’s and Movement Disorders Action Group meets 2-3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18 at the Betty Ehart Senior Center, 1101 Bathtub Row.

Jordan Sykes of Abbott/St. Jude Medical, will discuss a new product for Deep Brain Stimulation.

The answer lies deep in the brain.

Think of the human brain as a billion-person orchestra with every neuron playing in harmony to coordinate the body’s movement. Now, imagine some of these neurons playing out of tune, resulting in uncontrollable tremors, making even simple, everyday activities difficult and sometimes seemingly impossible.  It’s a daily battle faced by more than 10 million people with Parkinson’s.

But what if you could effectively bring the orchestra back in tune, so that the brain can play its symphony in harmony, once again?

The Community is invited to attend this meeting.
