Have you ever thought of adopting or fostering a child? Learn more from this panel of experts:
- Marianne Wallin has adopted two children over the last four years. She has one son from Uganda and one from Ethiopia, as well as one biological daughter. She is currently working on adopting an older girl from Uganda.
- Patty Shure fostered 12 children and adopted three over 22 years. She also has one biological son. She finished her Master’s in Social Work in 2009 and is now the director of child and family services at Las Cumbres.
- LeAnne Parsons, LC, CPC, ELI-MP, is a certified life coach. Parsons is a reunited adoptee, serving adoptees and their families to connect and create an honest family legacy. Her passion is raising awareness and empowering others through her story, to help the triad members embrace their story.
- Janet Burnside fostered 30 children over a six year period. She has five children, two with special needs and one of whom she adopted. She has a background in social work.
The panel discussion is 11:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 4 at Family Strengths Network, 1900 Diamond Dr. (the Pueblo Complex) in Los Alamos. Light snacks will be provided. Brown Bag lunches are welcome. BabyNet is the gathering, cooperation, and connection between local professionals who serve families, from prenatal through early childhood.
