The Little Bird is ready to soar into summer. Pajarito Mountain kicks off its 2025 summer season Friday, June 6, with lift-served mountain biking, downhill hiking, and the return of the beloved Mountain Cafe—offering adventure-seekers an affordable, crowd-free alternative in the heart of the Jemez Mountains.
Opening Weekend Brings Championship Racing
The season launches with serious momentum as Downhill Rockies brings their race opener to Pajarito Mountain, welcoming mountain bikers from across the country for an enduro competition. It’s the perfect showcase for what makes this independent New Mexico mountain special: challenging terrain without the corporate resort hassle. The mountain’s trails will still be open to the public, guests might encounter some really fast riders.
Summer Operations & Easy Access
- Lift-Served Activities: 9 a.m.- 4 p.m., Saturdays & Sundays, throughout summer
- Mountain Cafe: 11 a.m.- 3 p.m., Fridays; 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturdays & Sundays
While pipeline construction continues on Camp May Road Monday-Thursday, Pajarito Mountain remains fully operational for weekend adventures when the road reopens Thursday at 5 PM. This schedule perfectly aligns with the mountain’s weekend operations, ensuring uninterrupted access for all summer activities.
Unbeatable Value Meets Mountain Adventure
Lift tickets start at just $27, and Pajarito is introducing Bird Bucks for summer—$10 in FREE daily resort credit with every lift ticket purchase that guests can use at the cafe or mountain store. The fully-equipped bike shop offers daily, multi-day, and weekly bike rentals plus on-site repair services for riders who need to keep their gear running smooth.
Trail Improvements & New Features
Pajarito’s dedicated volunteer trail crew has been busy during the off-season, raking trails, removing debris, repairing features, and preparing the mountain for another epic season. The famous Corkscrew feature has been completely dismantled, with the team designing an exciting new challenge in its place. Additional improvements throughout the trail system promise fresh lines and enhanced riding experiences.
Summer Kickoff: Summerfest Returns June 14
Mark your calendars for Summerfest from 9 a.m.-5:30 p.m., June 14, Pajarito’s legendary annual celebration featuring live music, local craft beer, and that famous deck party atmosphere. It’s mountain culture at its finest—the whole family is welcome.
