Pajarito Is Open For President’s Day Today

PAJARITO MOUNTAIN News:

Pajarito is open for President’s Day today and Open Snow is calling for 23” of new snow in the next five days with 4” in the next 24 hours.

Pajarito will re-open Wednesday through Sunday. Refer to the Pajarito Snow Report for the most up-to-date information on what trails and lifts are open. This report is updated at 6 a.m. daily.

Lift ticket prices are valid through March 18th. Prices are $49 for adults (ages 18-59), $39 for teens (ages 13-18), $39 for children (ages 6-12) and $24 seniors (65-79). Half day ticket prices are valid through March 18th. Prices are $39 for adults, $33 for teens, $27 for children and $33 seniors. Morning half day tickets are valid 9 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Afternoon half day tickets are valid 12:30 p.m. until 4 p.m.

Upcoming Events:

*The Women’s Clinic meets at the Lodge each Thursday at 11:30 a.m. and skis until roughly 4 p.m. The clinic is free, but participants must have their own season pass or lift ticket for the day. The Women’s Clinic covers the following skills and techniques: improving form and confidence by developing skiing skills, sharing knowledge of contemporary skiing styles and equipment, sharing skiing-related strength and conditioning exercises (off-snow), and empowering women through the sport of skiing.
 

*The Senior Clinic, which focuses on contemporary ski techniques for those 60 and older, meets in the Lodge each Thursday at 8:30am and heads to the slopes at 9 a.m. The group will ski until a lunch break at noon. The clinic is free and hosted by Hugh Casey and John Viney, both PSIA Level 3 instructors. All participants must have their own season pass or lift ticket, and be able to ski green and blue slopes.

 

*Come celebrate all things Telemark Feb. 23 and Feb. 24 with all day clinics, gear demos and the best (and most fun!) Tele instructional crew in the Rocky Mountain Region, the Telenators. All ability levels are welcome. Registration is required. Learn more here.

*Beer and Bands is back 3-5 p.m. Feb. Pajarito’s winter Beer & Band series features live music and local craft beer from Bathtub Row Brewing Co-Op. Craft brew from Bathtub Row Brewing starts pouring at noon. Live music is 3-5 p.m. Learn more.

*March 2 Pajarito will host a Community Apres Ski. Relax after a day of skiing with friends, BYOB drinks, and an old ski movie. Bring your own beverage a enjoy a movie 3-5 p.m. at the Pajarito Mountain Cafe. Learn more.

*March 16 is Skiesta, a long-standing tradition at Pajarito Mountain. The very first Skiesta was held in 1948 and featured music, costumes and a 50 cent hot dog lunch. Since its very humble beginnings, Skiesta has been a wacky spring event that celebrates the unique mountain culture of Los Alamos and the wonderful sport of skiing (all types—snowboarding included!). This year there will be beer from New Mexico Craft Breweries, a costume contest, themed skiing events and live music. Check it out here.
