In a memo obtained today by the Los Alamos Daily Post, Los Alamos National Laboratory Director Charlie McMillan has announced the departure of Associate Director for Weapon Engineering and Experiments John Benner, who has accepted a position at the Nevada National Security Site.

ESPANOLA ― Northern New Mexico College’s Board of Regents on Friday approved the Bienvenido Non-Resident Scholarship Program, allowing recipients to pay in-state tuition.

All pregnant women should get a group B strep test when they are 35–37 weeks pregnant. Babies can get very sick and even die if their mothers pass group B strep bacteria to them during childbirth.

If you are pregnant, talk with your doctor or midwife about getting a group B strep (GBS) test. CDC recommends getting it when you are 35–37 weeks pregnant. In regard to Mr. Spencer’s letter (link), details do matter especially in the law. He is correct that this is an open carry state and the actual law is close to but not accurately reflected on the New Mexico State Police website.

Perhaps they missed a change to the law. The law should always be checked at the official legal site for all of New Mexico’s laws, state and local. That would be the New Mexico Compilation Commission (link).

The summer storm season is upon us and with storms come one of the most fearful and unpredictable forces of nature: lightning. A single bolt of lightning can carry more than 100 million volts of electricity and create a significant amount of damage to your home and personal property.

More than $825 million in lighting damage claims was paid out in 2016 to more than 100,000 policyholders nationwide. There was a total of 109,049 lightning claims in 2016 and each claim averaged $7,571.90 in damages paid.
