Allan L. Houle of Los Alamos was bound over Thursday to First Judicial Court on two second degree felony counts of possession of a controlled substance and five misdemeanor counts of possession of drug paraphernalia.
Houle was one of seven people arrested in March during Operation Spring Cleaning, a drug sweep conducted by the Los Alamos Police Department. Los Alamos Magistrate Judge Pat Casados bound him over following Thursday’s preliminary hearing.
The two felony charges are related to a controlled buy of methamphetamines in January and another controlled buy of heroin in February arranged by Det. Ryan Wolking and Det. Sgt. James Rodriguez.
The paraphernalia charges stemmed from a visit made to Houle’s Verde Ridge address March 20 by Sgt. Tim Lonz, Cpl. Eric Wilhoit and officers from other agencies with a search warrant. Wolking testified that items such as a marijuana pipe, a grinder, needle and burn spoons were found during a search of the residence.
Wolking’s incident report on the search indicates that he searched the area around Houle’s bed in the living room and on the mantle he located marijuana related items. He also found Houle’s cell phone and wallet near his bed and located a small container with used cotton ball in it. In the bathroom nearby, his report says he located a prescription pill bottle with information on it and in a bathroom sink drawer he located a needle, two burn spoons, and a baggie containing pills.
