On The Job In Los Alamos: PEEC Volunteer Bonnie Klamm

On the Job in Los Alamos is volunteer Bonnie Klamm with Rosa the milk snake Friday afternoon at the Los Alamos Nature Center. Klamm said Rosa is 15 years old. Brightly colored and strikingly patterned, milk snakes are nonvenomous, according to Live Science. They are often confused with dangerous copperheads or coral snakes; however, milk snakes are a species of kingsnake and pose no threat to humans. Source: livescience.com. The nature center, operated by the Pajarito Environmental Education Center (PEEC), is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday and closed Sunday and Tuesday at 2600 Canyon Road.
