Office Of Superintendent Of Insurance Issues Advice For True Health New Mexico’s Plan Members

OSI News:

SANTA FE — True Health New Mexico (True Health) recently announced that it will leave the New Mexico health insurance market.

The organization’s parent company, Bright Health, which purchased True Health last April, made the decision to pull out of several states, including New Mexico. True Health covers nearly 32,000 New Mexicans.

The NM Office of Superintendent of Insurance (OSI) advises all of True Health’s members – individuals, families and employer-sponsored groups – to plan to take action to ensure they don’t have a break in their health insurance coverage. Actions that all members will need to take include determining when their current True Health plan coverage ends; researching coverage options offered by other companies; and identifying the plan that’s best for them.

OSI urges individuals and families to explore their new coverage options on beWellnm.com. Plans sold on beWellnm.com are eligible for financial help for premiums and out-of-pocket costs. True Health will send notices to all of its health plan members at least 180-days before their coverage ends. Consumers and employers are advised to watch for this notice, or to call True Health at 1.844.508.4677 to confirm the end date of their coverage. True Health has posted other important information on its website, www.truehealthnewmexico.com.

“True Health has been an important health plan innovator in New Mexico, as well as a popular health insurer among the state’s residents and employers,” OSI Superintendent Russell Toal said. “We have valued our work with True Health in serving New Mexicans’ health coverage needs, and the OSI regrets that Bright Health will no longer offer health insurance in our state.”
