VERNER ‘REX’ REXROTH Dec. 25, 1921 – June 4, 2019

Verner ‘Rex’ Rexroth was born in Denver, CO on Christmas Day 1921 and passed away June 4, 2019 in Carlsbad, CA.

Rex attended Colorado University in Boulder where he met the love of his life, Marilyn, and graduated with a BS in Electrical Engineering. Marilyn and Rex were married in September 1943 and started their lives together in Denver.

In 1947 they moved to the small community of Los Alamos where he worked at the laboratory and they raised their 4 children. After a 36 year career at LANL, they retired to Carlsbad, CA in 1985. Marilyn and Rex shared a love of family, music, travel, and service in their churches the United Church in Los Alamos and The Village Church in Rancho Santa Fe, CA.

Rex was preceded in death by his wife of 73 years Marilyn Gerhardt Rexroth; his sister, Jean; his brother, Chuck; and his daughter Jo Ann Rexroth Rivers.

Rex is survived by his son, Paul and wife Shirley of Albuquerque, NM; his daughter Sally Fuller and husband Jim of Whitwell, TN; and his daughter Trudi Rexroth of Albuquerque, NM.  Surviving grandchildren are Nick Rexroth and wife Susan and Melody Rexroth all of Las Cruces, NM; Lester Rivers and wife Elizabeth and Loren Rivers all of Lake Montezuma, AZ; Darlene Leon and husband Christian of Tempe, AZ; Danielle Geromini and husband Daniel of Gilbert, AZ; Tabitha Fanning and fiancé Ian Woodgate of Phoenix, AZ; Joshua Fanning and wife Audra of Camp Pendleton, CA and great grandchildren Riley Jo Rivers, Ashyre and Bryce Rexroth.

A private service and will be held at the United Church on July 13.
