THOMAS EARL ‘TOM’ MOXLEY III Aug. 12, 1977 – Oct. 16, 2025
Thomas Earl “Tom” Moxley III, age 48, of White Rock, New Mexico, passed away on Thursday, October 16, 2025, in Seattle, Washington. He was born on August 12, 1977, in Phoenix, Arizona.
Tom will be remembered for his generous heart, quick wit, and unmistakable sense of humor. His intelligence, dedication, and caring nature touched all who knew him and will be deeply missed. Above all, he will be remembered for the deep and unwavering love he held for his daughter, Zoe.
He is survived by his beloved daughter, Zoe Elizabeth Moxley (7); his sister, Jennifer Elizebeth Ann Moxley (49); and his mother, Yong Hui Moxley (née Cho) (74). He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Earl Moxley Jr., who passed away in May 2023.
Tom was a longtime resident of White Rock, having moved from Marquette, Michigan with family at the age of 4.
Tom had a lifelong passion for writing, music, and film. He enjoyed crafting short stories, playing his guitar, going to live concerts and sharing good conversation with family and friends. A devoted football fan, he played the sport through high school and in semi-professional leagues until the age of 36. He remained a steadfast supporter of the Chicago Bears—fiercely loyal to the team since their 1985 Super Bowl victory.
An animal lover at heart, Tom shared a special bond with his dogs throughout his life and was a strong advocate for pet adoption.
Tom’s career at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) spanned more than three decades, where he served in varying intern, contractor, and full-time roles. His dedication and work ethic left a lasting impression on his colleagues and community alike.
His daughter, Zoe, was the light of his life. In his own words, “Zoe is the most precious and important contribution to the world I’ll ever make”. As Zoe’s father, Tom demonstrated a love that was infinite and unconditional. The immense joy, strength and love she brought to his life was just as immeasurable.
Tom was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His warmth, humor, kindness and unwavering devotion to his family, friends and all who knew him will remain forever in our hearts.
