Tomas Davis, age 68, died peacefully on October 23, 2016 following a ten year battle with dementia.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Hilda Davis.
Tom grew up in Barnesboro, PA. He attended Catholic University in Washington DC, graduating with a degree in mechanical and aerospace engineering. After graduation, he moved west to the San Francisco bay area to work at Mare Island Naval Shipyard as a health physicist for their nuclear submarine program.
His work there led to a position at LANL initially in the health physics division and later for a variety of engineering design projects. He retired from LANL in 2004.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Brooke, their son Clark, sisters Arlene Pawlikowski (Ted), Trudy Keller (Bill), and Priscilla Brubaker (Bob), and by a brother, Myles Davis (Diane).
Tom had a wide variety of interests and was an enthusiastic lifelong student. He especially enjoyed hiking and rock climbing in the Jemez mountains and felt lucky to live in such a beautiful area.
Cremation has taken place and per Tom’s wishes, there will be no service.
