STEVEN PAUL LIMBACK July 24, 1947–Aug. 14, 2020
On Friday, August 14, 2020, Steven Paul Limback’s “faith became sight” as he went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Steve was born July 24, 1947 in Peoria, Illinois. He was a Godly man, dedicated to glorifying God in every aspect of his life. Everything he did in life was done “as unto the Lord.”
Steve served four years in the United States Air Force as a mechanic working on C130 Hercules airplanes. He was honorably discharged with a rank of Staff Sergeant.
On July 17, 1971 Steve married the love of his life, Karen. In 1977 Steve and Karen made Los Alamos their home when Steve was hired by Los Alamos National Laboratory. He worked as an electrical engineer at LANL until his retirement in 2006, after 28 years of dedicated service.
God then gave Steve the opportunity to serve Him further by volunteering full-time during the construction of Crossroads Bible Church. Having a kindred spirit, a close friendship grew as Steve and his brother-in-Christ, Kirk Christensen, labored together in all aspects of the building and maintenance of CBC.
His devotion to marriage and family was always his priority. Steve was a wonderful, caring husband to Karen, a loving father to daughter Kelly (Tonio) and son Nathan (Laura with children Katie and Trystan), a loving grandfather (Bubba) to Mckinzie, Madison, Alexandria and Ethan.
Steve’s mother, Isobel (deceased), his father Norman, three brothers, Ron, Howard (Debbie) and Mark (Kerry), nieces, nephews and extended family were all dearly loved by Steve.
Justified by his faith in Jesus Christ, Steve lived with the blessed assurance of God’s mercy and grace. His hope was in the glory of God and this allowed Steve to trust God’s sovereignty and rejoice even while battling cancer.
All who knew and loved Steve will miss him greatly.
A funeral service for Steve is planned for Saturday, August 29, 2020, 11:00 a.m. at Crossroads Bible Church, 97 East Road, Los Alamos, NM. Because of COVID-19 restrictions, seating will be limited, and by reservation only. You will be asked to affirm that you are not experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms or have been in close contact with a person who has COVID-19. Please plan to bring your own face covering for use at the service. If your request is able to be accommodated you will receive a confirmation email Friday evening.
