ROSEMARY LOTTIE MATUSZAK Nov. 14, 2021

Rosemary Lottie Matuszak, 80, passed away on Sunday, November 14, 2021 in Albuquerque, NM from complications resulting from Alzheimer’s dementia.

Rosemary was born Rosemarie Gabridge in Detroit, MI, but had her name legally changed to Rosemary before age 20. She met her sweetheart, Michael Leonard Matuszak, at age 14, and they dated until they wed on Sept. 1, 1962.

Rosemary and Michael lived in several different cities including Detroit, MI, Newark, OH, White Rock, NM, Bluff City, TN, and St. Louis, MO, but ended up back in NM which Rosemary had grown to love.

Rosie was a beautician by trade and was very much into arts and crafts including ceramics, painting and stained glass. She also enjoyed bridge and bowled in her younger years. She loved to shop – especially if there were sales, and she enjoyed buying things for others.

Rosie enjoyed helping others in any way she knew how and was very active in her church. She is preceded in death by her parents, Mary and Stanley Gabridge, her brothers John and Stan Gabridge, and her grandson, Trevor Michael Matuszak.

She is survived by her two children, Michael Eric and Wanda Jean Matuszak, grandchildren Anna Rose Matuszak and Griffin Matuszak, and several aunts, cousins, second cousins, and third cousins.

A funeral Mass for Rosemary will be held on Thursday, December 16 at the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary church in Albuquerque, NM. A prayer and memorial service for both Rosemary and her husband Michael, will be held at Guaje Pines Cemetery in Los Alamos, NM at 2 pm on Saturday, Dec 18. A reception will follow in White Rock at Mick’s house: 401 Richard Ct.
