ROBERT NEAL COLYER Aug. 1, 1951 – Nov. 13, 2025

Neal Colyer, age 74, passed peacefully in his home in Westmont, Pennsylvania on November 13, 2025.

Neal Colyer, beloved son of Harvey and Mildred (Stone) Colyer of Leary, Texas, was born on August 1, 1951, in Los Alamos, New Mexico. He graduated from Los Alamos High School in 1970, where he was a proud member of the choir and the football team.

Neal served his country in the United States Air Force as a Military Police Officer, was a member of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Union Local #412 in Farmington, New Mexico, and later attended the Police Academy where he went on to work and retire from the Los Alamos Police Department in 2000, where he was respected for his dedication and service.

Music was one of Neal’s greatest joys. As a longtime member of the Grapevine, Texas Opry and singer with the country music band Saturday Night Special, he cherished singing with the band and volunteering his time to support Opry programs and events. Neal also had a lifelong love of the outdoors and especially enjoyed fishing and boating with his dear friends Kenny Horton, Gary Griffin, Reggie Briggle, and Dan Delaney.

Neal is preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Annita Charlton; and his stepdaughter, Christi Nobrega.

He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Joanne (Treat) Colyer; his children, Michael Colyer, Jennifer (Colyer) Sutton and her husband Stefan, and Brian Colyer and his wife Laura (Elliott) Colyer, and Monica Nobrega; his sister, Cheryl Colyer; his brother, Norman Colyer and his wife Donna; and his cherished grandchildren, Brianna Sutton, Hayden Sutton, and Madelyn Sutton.

Neal was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by all who knew him. His warmth, humor, generosity, and unwavering love for his family and friends will never be forgotten.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Neal’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
