ROBERT FONDAY GRIBBLE May 15, 1932 – May 29, 2015

Robert Fonda Gribble passed away May 29, 2015 in Los Alamos at the age of 83. He was born on May 15, 1932 in Austin, Texas to Robert Frances Gribble and Joyce Hudson.

He is survived by his spouse Rita Gribble, his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Robert was a Navy veteran and a long time Los Alamos resident. For 28 years, from 1965-1993, he was a valued employee at Los Alamos National Laboratory. An electrical engineer, physicist and group leader at the Lab, he loved his job so much he never considered it work.

After his retirement from the Lab, Robert divided his time between consulting work and the mountain cabin he built in Colorado. He loved the mountains and with great ingenuity could build or repair anything he set his mind to. He was appreciated for his sense of humor and sometimes referred to as “our silly grandpa” by his loving grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He will be remembered with love by all his family and friends.
