ROBERT ‘DOC’ SNIDER, DVM Jan. 12, 1937 – April 22, 2023

Robert was born in Rice, Kansas in 1937 to Leo and Gertrude Snider. He graduated from Johnson City High School in 1955. After high school, he attended Fort Hays State University before transferring to Kansas State University.

He met his wife Delores “Dee” (Neill) Snider in 1958. They were married on August 23, 1959. Dr. Snider received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in the Spring of 1964. He began practicing medicine in Hobbs, New Mexico until November of 1965.

In January of 1966, he and his family moved to Los Alamos. Dr. Snider continued to practice veterinary medicine in Los Alamos for the next 35 years; until his retirement in July of 2001. His retirement years were spent training the family’s German Shorthair and Wirehair Pointers in various American Kennel Club (AKC) Field Trials and Hunt Tests.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Dee; sons Rodney Snider, Kendal Snider M.D., grand kids: Carolina and Lukas, and Garrick Snider. A private remembrance ceremony will be held at a future date.
