PETER MANVILLE WARD 1939 – Nov. 14, 2025

Peter Manville Ward, 86, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed peacefully on November 14, 2025. He was under the care of the hospice unit at the New Mexico Veterans’ Administration Hospital in Albuquerque, NM after complications from a fall.

Peter was born in Inglewood, California in 1939 to Virginia and Winston Ward. He volunteered for the United States Air Force during the Vietnam Era. After four years, he presented his honorable discharge papers, his G.I. bill education benefits, and himself at the steps of the University of New Mexico. He subsequently received a bachelor’s degree from the Lobo Nation and, for twenty-five years, plied his craft (Contract Administration) at the Los Alamos National Laboratory.

After retiring from LANL Peter worked at another DOE facility in Texas driving back to New Mexico as often as possible. New Mexico was the state he loved, especially the Espanola/La Mesilla area. After fully retiring, he lived in the NE Heights of Albuquerque, NM.

Peter was preceded in death by his parents, Virginia and Winston, former spouse Ann, and his brother Michael. He is survived by brothers, Jay and Patrick, former spouse Rose Marie, children, Dianna, Neil, and Kelly, and nineteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

At his request, no formal services will be held. Peter will be interred at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe, New Mexico in January 2026.
