NANCY PORTO HAND July 29, 2015

Nancy Porto Hand, 66, passed away Wednesday, July 29, 2015 in San Antonio, Texas after a short battle with lung cancer. 

Nancy was the oldest child of Bernice and Tony Porto (former deacon at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church).   

Nancy is survived by her husband Joe Hand of Harper, Texas, daughter Cara Cordova (Orlando) of Albuquerque and son Jason Zimmerman (Kim) and grandson Austin of Lee’s Summit, Mo., brothers Andy Porto (Catherine) and Dan Porto of Albuquerque and sister Patty Porto Schmidt (Don) of St. Petersburg, Fla., nephews Aaron Porto of Albuquerque, Stephen Porto and Justin Porto (Natalie) of Los Alamos, Luke Schmidt, Astoria, New York, step-daughter Sherry Francisco (David) of Colorado Springs, step-sons Robert Hand (Linda) and David Hand (Melanee) of Los Alamos, eight step-grandchildren and 12 step-great-children and a large extended family.

Nancy graduated in 1967 from Los Alamos High School and attended the University of New Mexico. She worked at LATA and she and her husband owned and operated JONA Machining.
