MARY MARTHA BLUM May 26, 1924 – Jan. 26, 2016

Mary Martha (Lusk) Blum, affectionately known as “Mott” by her parents and relatives passed away on Tuesday, January 26, 2016, in Los Alamos, NM.

She was born May 26, 1924 to Raymond and Martha Lusk in Columbus Grove, Ohio. At the age of 19, she and her husband Dr. William A. Blum moved to California where he practiced Optometry for 54 years. Dr. Blum sold his practice and returned with Mary to Lima, Ohio in 1999. Her husband preceded her in death as well as her daughter Judy Jeanine Blum-Fernandez and grandson Christopher Thomas Blum.

At Mary’s request, interment will be at Rose Hills Mausoleum in Whittier, California alongside of her beloved husband and daughter. A dedicated Born-again Christian of the Pentecostal faith, she worshipped the Lord in Long Beach, CA serving as Senior Sunday School teacher and singing in the choir for many years. Mary was a published author having written the book “S-sh, Come Let Us Hear.” Her fond pastimes were homemaking, playing the piano, traveling to many countries throughout the world and reading; but her greatest joy was in her faith and the love she shared in Christ with her beloved family and friends.

She leaves behind three sons; Donald R. Blum, Thomas W. Blum and Robert B. Blum along with their faithful wives Jeanie, Monie, and Fran. Mary will be sadly missed by her precious Grandchildren Billy, Tommy, Dale, Melissa, Jeffery, Angela, Starr and Ali. She also adored her 13 Great Grandchildren.
