LO REE BUNCH Feb. 1, 1932 – May 30, 2018

Lo Ree Bunch, 86, peacefully passed away May 30, 2018, at Los Alamos Medical Center with her loving husband by her side.

Lo Ree was the best friend and beloved wife of her only love of 55 years, Paul C. Bunch of White Rock, New Mexico. Devoted mother of two sons, Roger Bunch and wife Mattie, Roger is a Manager at CHRISTUS St. Vincent Health System, and Steven Bunch and wife Bridget, Steven owns Skyland Aircraft. The youngest daughter of her late parents: Earl and Goldie Mae Orten- Waterson. Beloved sister of her late brother and sister: Don E. Waterson and Opal Mae Schmidt. Lo Ree is also survived by her three beautiful grandchildren Adam and wife Ashley, Dean, and Chloe.

Lo Ree was born on February 1, 1932, in Pendennis, KS on the family farm in Western Kansas near Dighton, as the youngest daughter of Earl and Goldie Mae Orten-Waterson. She attended school in Dighton and graduated from University of Kansas in 1954. After graduation, she worked for the budget director of the state of Kansas. When the Budget Director would not allow a young, unmarried female to go out within the state “as males were allowed” to perform audits of various operations, she moved to Los Angeles, California and worked for General Electric Appliance Distribution Center as secretary for the Center director.

She met her future sweetheart, Paul, at Crenshaw Methodist Church in Los Angeles in 1960. She was also president of a local young persons’ social club, when the adjacent photo was taken. The happy couple were married in 1963 at Crenshaw Methodist Church. After traveling Europe together, Lo Ree and Paul started their adventurous lifestyle touring the country, living in California, Florida, Virginia, Michigan, and eventually settling in White Rock, New Mexico, all within just two decades!

After being a homemaker, she returned to the workforce in 1986 as a group-leader for the receptionists of Medical Associates of Northern New Mexico until she retired in 1997.

The family of Lo Ree Bunch would like to thank all of the wonderful doctors and nurses at Los Alamos Medical Center and CHRISTUS St. Vincent for their exceptional care and attention.
