LEROY WILLIAM LUCERO, SR. Nov. 23, 1936  – Nov. 6, 2016

LeRoy William Lucero, Sr., 79, a resident of  Santa Fe, New Mexico, died November 6, 2016. He was born November 23, 1936. He is preceded in death by: Luis Lucero (Father), Bernardita Rodriguez/Lucero (Mother), Polly Ortega/Lucero (Ex-Wife), LeRoy Lucero Jr. (Son), and Jimmy Lucero (Son).

He is survived by: Daughter-Bernadette Gallegos (Spouse: Carlos) of Santa Fe; Son-Leroy Lucero, Jr. (Spouse: Sandra) of Santa Fe; Son-Marco Lucero (Spouse: Sandy) of Los Alamos; Son-Rick Muniz of Santa Fe; Brother-Eugene Lucero (Spouse: Diana) of Rio Rancho; Sister-Barbara Morales (Spouse: Oscar) of Rio Rancho; and other siblings; Grandchildren: Dominic Gallegos (Spouse: Monica) of Santa Fe; Andrea Lucero of Santa Fe; Derek Lucero (Spouse: Angelique) of Tucson, AZ; Natasha Lucero of Albuquerque; Amber Lucero of Lubbock, TX; Lukas Lucero of Los Alamos; Lorinda Lucero of Los  Alamos; Susan Muniz of Santa Fe; and Cruz Muniz of Santa Fe. Great-grandchildren: Domanic Bruce, Andres Gallegos, Eli Dominguez, Cruz Gallegos and Alonzo Lucero.

Other history: Veteran of the United States Navy; Retired Detective from the Santa Fe Police Department; Active member of the Fraternal Order of Police; and Dedicated parishioner of Santa Maria De La Paz Catholic Church.

Pallbearers: Dominic Gallegos, Natasha Lucero, Andrea Lucero, Derek Lucero, Amber Lucero, Lukas Lucero and Lorinda Lucero.

Notes: LeRoy was a dedicated public servant who spent a majority of his life serving his country and community. His mother and father passed at an early age leaving him to raise his younger siblings. He instilled in his children his strong belief and service to God, Family and Country. 

Services in Santa Fe, NM: Public reception on Thursday, November 10, 2016 from 6-7 PM and Catholic Rosary at 7 PM at Santa Maria De La Paz Catholic Church. Funeral Mass on Friday, November 11, 2016 at 11 AM at Santa Maria De La Paz Catholic Church. Interment at 2 PM at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
