KRISTIN ELLEN KOSIEWICZ June 25, 1975 – Sept. 26, 2021

Kristin Ellen Kosiewicz, age 46, died unexpectedly Sept. 26, 2021. She was born in Los Alamos, to Claudia and Stan Kosiewicz June 25, 1975.

Kristin attended Los Alamos Public Schools. She spent her Junior year as a Rotary Exchange Student in Australia. Kristin graduated from Los Alamos High School early and took another Foreign Exchange to the French part of Belgium.

Kristin attended Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas. She took classes at the University of London and also UCLA. She received her bachelor’s degree in Business, with an emphasis in International Marketing from the University of Washington in Seattle.

Kristin as a youth was an exceptional athlete. She excelled in gymnastics, skiing and running. She had artistic talent that showed in her paintings and photography.

Kristin enjoyed all things nature. She and her father enjoyed backpacking, skiing, and star gazing together. After moving to Washington State, she continued to explore the outdoors. She claimed to have discovered a new mushroom that would be named after her.

After college, Kristin and her companions travelled across Europe. She was a confident and adventurous traveler who completed an around the world junket by herself.

Kristin was preceded in death by her stepfather Michael Peck.

She is survived by her mother, Claudia Peck of Kent, WA, her father Stanley Kosiewicz and stepmother Amy Anderson of Los Alamos, NM and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Addendum

The medical examiner recorded that Kristin Kosiewicz died due to an accidental overdose of fentanyl that was being used to treat pain from fibromyalgia. This opioid is dangerously potent. Said to be up to 100 times more potent than morphine. If you or a loved one or a friend is using fentanyl, please make sure that it is being used exactly as prescribed and purchased from a legitimate source to avoid becoming a tragic statistic. Other families in the Los Alamos community have experienced heart breaking loss due to this drug!
