Obituary: JUDY COY Oct. 24, 1940 – Feb. 27, 2023

Judy (Judith Ann) Coy, age 82, of Lee’s Summit, Missouri passed away Monday, February 27, 2023.

Judy was a resident of the Los Alamos area for 18 years, when her husband, Dale, worked for Los Alamos National Laboratory during three separate tenures.

During those years, Judy made many friends.  She was active in lots of things. Bowling, Bridge, League of Women Voters, Newcomers, etc. For some early years, she was a referee in basketball and baseball. She was an amateur radio licensee (KB5EVP), member of the LAARC, and helped with search & Rescue.

Her children, Karen Coy and Bob Coy, attended Los Alamos schools and were involved in local activities.

Judy was born October 24, 1940, in Springfield, Missouri, a daughter of the late Thad and Lucabell Reynolds.

She graduated from Southwest High School in 1958 and married the love of her life, Dale Coy, on June 16, 1961. She spent 20 years as a military spouse and homemaker.  Later in life, she spent her time providing support for anyone who needed it, inside and outside of the family, bowling, bridge, clubs, etc.

Judy is survived by her husband Dale, sister Penny, brother Jim, daughter Karen Hudson (Bill), son Bob Coy, and 3 grandsons Mitchell and Anthony Hudson of Lee’s Summit and Gavin Coy of South Bend, Indiana.
