Jimmie Allen Brothers, 62, a resident of Bandelier National Monument in Los Alamos, passed away peacefully at home following a brief illness on Sunday, November 30, 2014.
He was preceded in death by his parents, LeeRoy and Mary Dorothy Skelton-Brothers and sisters, Mary Schroder and Debbie Brothers.
When he was in the military, he worked on the Pershing Missle and radar repair and control. Jimmie also had 32 years in the National Park Service. Jimmie marred Monica in Great Bend, KS on February 9, 1976. He enjoyed spending time with his grandson, Austin.
Mr. Brothers is survived by his wife, Monica Lea; Brothers of Bandelier; children, Melissah Leeanne Brothers-Sutton of Bandelier and Amanda (Mandy) Kathleen Brothers of Eagle River, Wisconsin; grandson, Austin Sutton of Bandelier; sister, Shirley Jones of Hutchinson, Kansas; close friend, Christine Wilson of Bandelier and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 11, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the overlook at Bandelier National Monument. Burial to follow at a later date in the family plot in Larned, Kansas.
