JERRY BUCHEN Sept. 7, 1950 – July 31, 2013
Jerry Buchen died of cancer at home surrounded by his loving family, in the “Summertime.”
Jerry was a man of unique integrity who had the conviction and strength to live his own way. Born and raised in Los Alamos, he spent his adult life in Santa Fe after graduating from St. John’s College in 1972. He owned Santa Fe Glass & Mirror for 20 years, after which he worked as an independent contractor, designer and builder.
He is loved and survived by his wife of 41 years, Lynne Loucks Buchen: daughter Elizabeth Buchen (and husband Chris Lopez); daughter Kate (and husband Chris) Segura; grandchildren Michael and Kimberly Segura; parents John and Barbara Buchen; sister Terri (and husband Jim) Hoffman; sister Katy (and husband Frank) Fuchs; brother Tony Buchen; sister Tina Buchen; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his youngest daughter Sarah.
A celebration of Jerry’s life will be held 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., Aug. 18 in the Great Hall at St. John’s College.
