JANET C. JONES – July 8, 2025

Janet C. Jones passed away peacefully on July 8, 2025, in her home, just 3 weeks short of her 83rd birthday.

She was preceded in death by her younger sister, Elizabeth Weig and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. Burt Wells.

She leaves behind her husband of 54 years and 3 months, Delbert M. Jones, her older brother Michael Wells of Oro Valley, AZ., her son Steven J. (Kira) Jones and her grandson Kilian R. Jones of Buena Vista, CO.

Janet was a tall attractive blonde lady who loved kids and teaching. She was a highly regarded elementary school teacher for most of her life. She enjoyed traveling, quilting, and collecting all kinds of things.

She was born Janet Cecile Wells in Pittsburgh, PA and educated at Los Alamos High School in Los Alamos, NM, and Adams Teaching College (now Adams State University) in Alamosa, CO.

Janet married Delbert in March of 1971, and they lived and loved in Los Alamos, NM, Buena Vista, CO and finally in Oro Valley, AZ. Their most recent church affiliation was with Oro Valley United Church of Christ.

Janet was warm, outgoing, and generous and loved almost everyone she ever met. Those who knew her well, loved her in return. She will be sorely missed.
