JAMES RICHARD EICHOR April 17, 1932 – March 27, 2016
James Richard Eichor, age 83, passed away Sunday, March 27, 2016 at Stonebrook Assisted Living in Denison, Texas. He loved his family, family vacations, taking pictures, airplanes, and automobiles. He was loved by everyone, and will be dearly missed by all.
Mr. Eichor was born on April 17, 1932 in Guthrie Center, Iowa, the son of Hugh and Opal Eichor. He married Alice Marie Spain in Casey, Iowa in Feb 1954. He enlisted in the Marines in 1952 and received his boot camp training at Camp Pendleton in San Diego, CA. As a Marine he served in Korea and Japan. In 1955 he was commissioned as a 1st Lt. and served in the Marine Reserves for 3 years.
He and Alice moved to Omaha, Nebraska in 1955 where they had two daughters, Debbie and Barbara. The family moved to Denver, CO in 1959 where he worked for the Lockheed Martin Aerospace and they had another daughter, Karen, and son, Jim. The family moved to Los Alamos, NM in 1964 where he worked for the Los Alamos National Laboratory and they had their 4th daughter, Susan. Mr. Eichor retired from the Los Alamos National Laboratory in 1991 and moved to Lake Vallecito, CO until 2005 when they moved to Texas.
James is survived by his children, Daughter, Debbie Cochrain and husband, Dennis of Lake Kiowa, TX; granddaughter, Amber Bagley/husband, Brett and 5 great-grandsons of Tomball, TX; granddaughter, Andrea Lakin and one great-granddaughter of Oklahoma City, OK; Daughter, Barbara Drawdy and husband, Michael of North Augusta, SC; grandson, Jesse Roberts and wife, Amanda and two great grand-sons of Tucson, AZ; grandson, Aaron Roberts and wife, Chellie of Tucson, AZ; granddaughter, Kerianne Drawdy and one great granddaughter of Peoria, AZ; Daughter, Karen Moss and husband, Vince of Aiken, SC; one granddaughter Jennifer LeMaster and husband, Escal; Son, James Richard Eichor, Jr who is a Catholic Priest in Lawrence, Kansas; Daughter, Susan Eichor of Dallas, TX and granddaughter, JoAnne Linnenbrink of Longbeach, CA; his brother, Tim Eichor and wife, of Fort Dodge, Iowa, and his sister, Caroline DeWitt and husband in Adair, Iowa, and their families. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice in 2010.
