IMOGENE DISON June 10, 1934 – July 14, 2020

Imogene Dison, a beloved well-known, long-time resident of Los Alamos, N.M. passed away on July 14th, 2020 at the age of 86 due to complications of dementia, with her son Joseph and granddaughters Amber and Tarah by her side.

Imogene was widowed to James Dison; mother of Letha (deceased), Joseph, and Todd Dison; step-mother of Lloyd, Leon, and Donna Loraine Dison; and was a grandmother and great-grandmother.

Imogene, together with her twin sister Josephine, older sister Virginia and younger brother Billy Dean, were born to Inez and Joe Gilbert and raised in Quitman, Texas. She was a strong woman who faced many diversities and raised Joseph on her own until she met and married James, before moving to Los Alamos in 1965.

She had a happy, fruitful life with James while raising their children together and while working for and eventually retiring from Los Alamos National Laboratory. She was a homemaker, collector of many things, loved to garden, and made friends everywhere she went.

Imogene will be laid to rest with James in the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
