GLENEDITH PLUMLEY Jan. 8, 1928–April 27, 2014
Glenedith Plumley passed away April 27, 2014 after a long illness. She was born to David and Erma Fluty Jan. 8, 1928 in Cassie, W.Va. She grew up in Fluty Lick, Ky. and married Bert Plumley of Beckley W.Va. Oct. 16, 1953.
They made their home in Albuquerque, New Mexico, in 1960. Through the years, they enjoyed many adventures traveling, camping, fishing and hunting. She had a special fondness for rocks, plants and birds and she could identify almost all of them by sight. She was a self taught seamstress and enjoyed sewing from scratch. She loved spending time outdoors with family and friends.
She had many nicknames, “Granny, Grammy, Grandma Edith, Momma or Mamma Jamma ” and loved each one. She and Bert always had an open home and open heart for everyone and they always made sure everyone one was fed and took some food home, too. She met many, many people in her life but she never met a stranger. She had a lot of energy and still had spunk until the end.
She was preceded in death by her brothers Henry and Bill Fluty. Brother in law Bobby Plumley and sister in law Bonnie Helton. She is survived by her loving husband and best friend Bert. Daughters Donna Brubach and Debra Doty-Newell and her husband Bill. Michelle Mortimer who she considered an adopted daughter. Siblings Pauline, Macil and Chester (Chet). Siblings in law, Betty Jane (Daris), Barbara (Joey), Bruce, Lois and Paula. Granddaughter Amanda Ostler (Bryan) and Grandson David T. Meyer.
Great grand children Cody and Cory Reid, David A. Meyer, Kendall, Karlee and Kenzie Ostler. Friends and former son in laws Dean Doty and Jim Brubach. Great, lifelong friends Pete and Cheryl Anderson who shared in many adventures along the way.
Special thanks to Dr. Quito Osuna Carr, his staff and especially Monique, Dr. Kunz of the Heart Hospital.
Thanks to El Paraiso, Valerie and especially Kathy who took loving, gentle care of Mom and read the Bible to her. Heritage Hospice, Imelda, Cat and Pastor Gary. Vicki and everyone at Enchanted Trails RV Park and Randy of R & L Enterprises.
Cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to any Alzheimers foundation or support group.
An angel lived among us,
A gift from God above.
She showered us with kindness
And shared with us her love.
She cherished every moment
With the man who was her life;
Walking hand in hand together,
Facing life with all its strife.
She loved her children dearly,
Each one a different way,
Nestled close within her heart.
Though, now, she’s far away.
She’s gone to live with Jesus.
But, she’s here with us, today,
Smiling down on every one of us,
And telling us she’s O.K.
