GILDA MARGARET KAVE May 28, 1946 – July 14, 2014

Gilda Kave of Los Alamos, passed away on Monday, July 14, 2014 at the age of 68.. She was born in Paterson, N.J. May 28, 1946,  She was a longtime resident of Allentown/Bethlehem Pa. and moved to Los Alamos in 1979. She was a nurse at Los Alamos Medical Center for more than 20 years and most recently was a nurse at Aspen Ridge. 

She was preceded in death by her mother, Regina Verzino (Noti) and her father, William John Verzino. She is survived by her four children, Jill Mayo, Gina Smith, Anthony Kave and Dominic Kave; her brother, William Verzino and her beloved Matt Custer.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She served as President of the John D. Gamble Auxiliary 8874 in Los Alamos from July 2010 to the date of her death.

A rosary will be held 7-8 p.m. Tuesday, July 22 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Los Alamos. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 23 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Los Alamos. A reception will held at the VFW Post 8874 immediately following the funeral mass.
