DUSTIN MATHEW BENNETT Jan. 12, 2000 – April 15, 2024

Dustin Mathew Bennett of Los Alamos, NM was a wonderful caring son, brother, grandchild, nephew, cousin and friend. He left us unexpectedly on April 15, 2024, at the age of 24.

He was born Sunday, January 12, 2000 in Albuquerque, NM. The son of Alison Bennett.

He began his education at the Ark Child Development Center and went on to attend Aspen and Barranca Mesa Elementary Schools, Los Alamos Middle School and Los Alamos High School.

Dustin loved his family and life. He was all in with fun activities like swimming, whitewater rafting and rollercoasters. He had an infectious laugh and his smile lit up the room. Everywhere he went in town people knew him. He loved food from guacamole to mashed potatoes and gravy to Thai. He loved making jewelry and blowing glass. He was a wonderful artist. He even tried his hand at blacksmithing with his mom. He loved video games and watching scary movies with his mom. He loved his family and loved hanging with his brother especially. He had a wide circle of friends, of all ages, who will miss him very much. He was a caring, concerned friend.

After high school, Dustin worked in construction where he focused on developing his skills with a dream of building his own home. He was recognized as a hard, intelligent, focused worker. He loved a challenge and was often heard saying, “I got this”.

Dustin is survived by his mother, Alison; his brother, Dylan; his grandparents Melanie and Ernest Bennett; great grandmother Carole Gretchen Guire Cleavenger; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents Donald Cleavenger, Thomas Guire, Harry Bennett and Lorraine Shaffer Bennett.

A funeral service and reception for Dustin will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, April 26 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 3700 Canyon Road in Los Alamos.
