OBITUARY: Dorothy K. Hull Jan. 1, 1922 – June 2, 2014

DOROTHY K. HULL Jan. 1, 1922–June 2, 2014

Dorothy K. Hull, known by family and friends as Dot, passed away on June 2. Born on January 1, 1922, in Roanoke, Va., she was 92.

Dot married Robert E. Hull on March 17, 1944 and settled in Ft. Thomas, Ky.  They raised three children there in the greater Cincinnati area. Dorothy was a fun-loving, outgoing, person with a great sense of humor.  She managed their fairly modest income wisely.  As a result of growing up during the depression, she knew how to stretch a dollar, but we never wanted for anything (besides a pony).

She enjoyed many family camping trips, Friday nights in the summer at the drive-in, water skiing, gardening, sewing and knitting.  She came to Los Alamos in 1999 after recovering from a stroke.  She touched many lives both back in Cincinnati, and here in Los Alamos at Oppenheimer Place and most recently at Aspen Ridge Lodge. She will be missed.

Dot is predeceased by her husband Robert, son Kenneth and Daughter Marianne Kathleen. She is survived by her daughter Barbara (Andy) Yeamans, grandchildren Christopher Hiter, Kenneth Hull Jr., Douglas Hull, Shari Hull and Patrick Yeamans and their families.

There will be a Mass for Dorothy at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Los Alamos, at 9 a.m. Friday, June 13, followed by a light reception in the parish hall. Dot’s ashes will be buried next to her husband and daughter in Milford, Ohio.

The family is grateful to Aspen Ridge Lodge and to Pat Lovato for the wonderful care given to her for the last several years. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to Aspen Ridge Lodge in Los Alamos.
