DAVID (DAVE) ROGER BROWN Aug. 16, 1937 – July 29, 2025

David (Dave) Roger Brown of Lewisville, Texas, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at the age of 87.

Dave was born August 16, 1937, in Waynesville, Ohio. Son of the late Roger and Marjorie Brown.

Dave is survived by his wife, Carol Brown; son Alan Brown and spouse Jaki Martinez, daughter Annette Cyr and spouse Ken Cyr, grandchildren Angelique and Nicholas Cyr, sisters Doris Clay and Susanne Chilton, and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his brother William Brown.

A proud Air Force veteran, Dave served his country from August 1955 to 1959. He often referred to this time of his life as adventurous and exciting, as he was stationed in different parts of the world, including New York, Wichita Falls, Florida, Bermuda, and Utah. His unit was part of the “Hurricane Hunters,” who flew directly into tropical storms and hurricanes to gather weather data to improve forecasts.

After he was honorably discharged, Dave went on to work in research at Monsanto Lab in Miamisburg, Ohio, and eventually at Los Alamos National Laboratory in 1979. He was fortunate to work on several classified projects for the Department of Defense, even winning a group award for Best Invention of the Year in 2004 for designing an innovative clean energy filter to be used in factories.

After retiring in 2007, he returned to his life doing all the things he enjoyed, gardening, bird watching, and supporting his grandchildren’s activities and sports careers, even moving across the country twice to be near them. He always said, I can live anywhere as long as I’m near family. His devotion to his family was incredible, and he always put others before himself.

Dave was very active in his Christian faith, serving as a Sunday school teacher and choir director. He had a genuine warmth about him, and his ability to connect to others was something to admire. It gives us great comfort to know that he is now in the presence of Jesus.

A Celebration of Life will be held in his honor on August 9 at 11:00 a.m. at North Point Church in Lewisville, Texas. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Tunnel to Towers.
