CLIFTON SKIP COLLINS Aug. 12, 1939 March 23, 2016

Clifton “Skip” Collins, Jr. a resident of White Rock, NM passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, March 23, 2016, with his family by his side.

He was born in Oklahoma City, OK on August 12, 1939.  He was preceded in death by his father, Clifton M. Collins, Sr., mother Lois Casperson-Collins, and Uncles Robert and Ralph Casperson.

After proudly serving in the Army he returned to New Mexico and started his career as a Security Specialist for the Los Alamos National Laboratory and retired after twenty three years. He then worked three more years at Sandia National Laboratory. After leaving Sandia National Laboratory, he moved to northern Utah with his wife Lori, where they built their log dream home, raised horses and fished and hunted in their free time. His children and grandchildren all loved spending summers there.

He is survived by his wife Lori Collins, children Joshua (Melanie) Collins, Sarah Collins, Stepchildren Daniel (Denise) Wolfe and Wendi Wolfe, his brother, Stephen (Lee) Collins, four grandchildren Alisha, Danielle, Hunter and Maki’a.

Graveside service will be held on Thursday, March 31, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.  lieu of flowers Skip requested donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation. The family of Clifton “Skip” Collins, Jr. has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Espanola Valley. 505.747.7477.
