BRANDYN ORTEGA Jan. 14, 1996 – Oct. 2, 2017

Brandyn Ortega, 21, of Los Alamos, NM, died unexpectedly on Monday, October 2, 2017. He will be deeply missed by his parents, Heather and Andrew Ortega; siblings, Taylor Rose, Savannah, Isaac, and Joshua; grandparents; great-grandparents; and extended family and friends near and far.

Brandyn was born in Los Alamos on January 14, 1996, the light of his mother’s life. The consummate jokester, Brandyn loved to make those around him laugh and have fun. He was caring and giving and always good for a hug or a hand. He doted on his mother in big and small ways as often as he could.

He loved spending time with his family, especially his younger siblings. He was always someone they could count on for unconditional love and support. That love and affection was returned to him in spades.

Brandyn frequently helped in his parents’ business, Atomic City Cleaning, throughout his youth and into adulthood. Recently he was working on starting his own landscaping business. He also volunteered at the Los Alamos County Animal Shelter. Brandyn had a soft spot for animals and would have preferred to rescue them all. However, since time, money, and space are limited in everyone’s life, spending time making their lives better in the shelter was the next best thing.

A celebration of Brandyn’s life will be announced at a later date. His family observed a small private ceremony as Brandyn had wished. In lieu of flowers, please volunteer time or donate to the Los Alamos County Animal Shelter. Or simply do a good turn for those around you.
