ANTHONY MARTINEZ Aug. 31, 1963 – Oct. 18, 2021

Anthony Raymond John Martinez, 58, Española, left this world surrounded by family Oct. 18.

Anthony was born to Orlando and Diana (Garcia) Martinez August 31, 1963 and was raised in Leadville, CO.

Upon graduating from high school, Anthony enlisted in the United States Navy. He spent 20 years proudly serving his Country upon many vessels including USS Clark & USS Theodore Roosevelt as a Gunners Mate and armorer.

Upon his retirement from the Navy, Anthony continued his service to his Country at Los Alamos National Laboratory.  

Anthony was a son, brother, father, uncle, grandfather and friend. He will be remembered as a beloved and caring man. His family always came first. He loved riding his Harley, spending time with Bella & Piggy, his canine companions and rooting for the Denver Broncos. He was also a member of the Sangre De Cristo HOG Chapter.

Family members who survive Anthony include; parents, Orlando & Diana Martinez of Leadville, CO; sister, Donna Martinez & nephew Matthew Esquibel of Los Alamos, NM; sister-in-law Patricia Martinez, Denver, CO; children, Anthony Martinez (Amanda), Raymond Martinez, Audrina Martinez (Carlos) and Rueben Martinez (Alicia); grandchildren, Jazmin & Kaylee Ramirez, Raymond Jr;  Samantha, Jeremy & Gabriel Martinez & Andrew Quintana and nephews Orlando, Nathan & Jeremy Martinez & Brian Esquibel as well as many cherished relatives and friends. 

Anthony is preceded in death by brother, Orlando Martinez and his grandmother Senaida Martinez. 

Services will be at 11:30 a.m., Nov. 17, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Santa Cruz.  At 1:30 p.m. interment will be in Santa Fe National Cemetery, Santa Fe.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made in his name to your favorite veteran’s organization. Pallbearers will be Orlando Martinez Sr., Raymond Martinez, Anthony Martinez Jr., Rueben Martinez, Matthew Esquibel and Bryan Esquibel.
