ANN “ANNIE” HENRY HEIMDAHL June 5, 1941 – July 17, 2015
Ann “Annie” Henry Heimdahl, 74, passed away Friday, July 17, 2015.
Ann was born June 5, 1941 to Finn and Alice Heimdahl in St. Louis Park, Minn. She attended elementary school in Havre, Mont. She attended junior high and graduated from St. Louis Park. She attended the Model School of Hair Design in Minneapolis and worked as a stylist at Bon-Sheri in Park Rapids.
Ann’s friends and family use words like fun loving, free spirit, magical, and beautiful to describe her. She was a special lady who made friends easily and who treasured the many relationships that she had with people from all walks of life.
Ann had a creative spirit that showed in the way she dressed, the car she drove, the jewelry she made and in her personality. Her creativity and artistic flare were especially highlighted by the way she decorated her home. She was truly a one of a kind woman who lived a life of joy, laughter and love.
Ann loved her friends and family, her cats, daisies, cowboys, thrift shops, Willie Nelson, politics, pull-tabs, rocks, being a grandma, dressing up, stories, being real, boots, jewelry, relationships, being creative, her KIA, dancing, Harley rides, and hanging out with her friends. She was a strong defender of equal rights for all.
In her early years, she worked on campaigns for DFLers, including Hubert Humphrey. She continued to be involved in politics by sending letters, money and support to candidates and people in need.
Annie’s friends, family, and partners in crime have many memories of fun times. She kept the party going with her quick wit and her ability to say what was on her mind… anytime and anywhere. She will be missed by many.
Ann was known as Granny Annie by her grandkids. They remember her by her love, kindness, hugs and humor.
