ALBERT ENGELHARDT March 17, 1935-March 15, 2014
With profound regret the Engelhardt family announces the death of their beloved husband, father and grandfather.
Albert was born in Toronto, Canada on March 17, 1935 and died on March 15, 2014.
He was a brilliant student at the University of Toronto where he received a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering in 1958. He got a Master of Science in 1959 and a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering in 1961 at the University of Illinois.
From 1961 to 1970, he worked at the Westinghouse Research Lab in Pittsburgh, Pa.; then from 1970 -1974 he was a project leader at Hydro Quebec in Varennes, Quebec and was a staff member at Los Alamos National Laboratory from 1974 -1986. He then lectured at Texas Tech University and ran a small business in Lubbock, Texas.
In addition to his scientific ability, Albert had a solid background in Hebrew, Latin and Greek and spoke fluent French.
He will be greatly missed by his wife, Elsa, his sons, Freddy, Lenny and MIchael, his daughters-in law, Karen Williams, Pnina, and Tsipi and grandchildren, Sivan, Mayan, Maytal, Ilai, Or, Na’ama, Tamar, all of whom have the surname Engelhardt and all of whom reside in Israel.
